Editorial methodology
Every cost guide on this site is written from data, not industry estimates. When we publish a price range — say, "$300–$800 for brake pads + rotors per axle" — that range comes from real QuoteScore submissions, with outliers (top/bottom 5%) trimmed, and is updated when new data shifts the median by more than 10%.
- Sample size disclosure: If a number is backed by fewer than 50 quotes, we say so.
- Regional separation: Labor rates and parts pricing are reported separately so you can adjust for your metro.
- Source data: Quote submissions from late 2024 onward + parts retail (RockAuto, AutoZone, Advance Auto, Home Depot, Lowe's, Ferguson) and regional labor benchmarks.
- Public stats API: The full live database stats are at /api/stats/public — anyone can verify our numbers.

QuoteScore is not affiliated with Angi, HomeAdvisor, Yelp, RepairPal, or any contractor lead-gen network. We don't sell user data and don't accept payment to influence scores. QuoteScore may earn a referral fee when you ask to be connected with a pro, and only then. Partners never affect your score, and you pay nothing extra. Corrections policy
If a price benchmark on this site doesn't match your real quote in your metro, email us with the quote and we'll re-check the underlying data. Material corrections are dated and noted in the guide's update log.
