Privacy Policy
The short version: your uploaded quote is deleted the moment analysis finishes, we only keep your email if you choose to give it, and we never sell your data.
Effective July 14, 2026
What we collect
- Your quote. When you upload a quote (photo, PDF, or pasted text), we process it to produce your analysis. The uploaded file is permanently deleted as soon as the analysis completes. What we keep is the extracted, anonymized data: the line items, prices, service category, contractor business name, and the ZIP code you provide for regional benchmarking. We do not collect or store your name, home address, or phone number from the quote.
- Your email, only if you give it. Features like emailed reports, price alerts, and our newsletter ask for an email address. Providing it is always optional; the core analysis never requires it.
- Basic usage analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (pages visited, approximate location, device type). This uses cookies. We do not use advertising trackers and we show no ads.
How we use it
- To analyze your quote and show you the results.
- To improve our pricing benchmarks: anonymized line items from analyzed quotes become part of the database that everyone's quotes are scored against.
- To send you the emails you signed up for. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address from our list.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run QuoteScore:
- Google Gemini processes quote content to produce the AI analysis.
- Google Cloud hosts the application.
- Turso stores the anonymized analysis database.
- Resend delivers our email.
- Google Analytics provides aggregate usage statistics.
We never sell your personal information, and we do not share it with contractors, lead-generation services, or advertisers. Aggregate, anonymized statistics (for example, "the average roofing quote scored 41/100") are published openly.
If you use QuoteScore through an AI assistant
QuoteScore runs a Model Context Protocol server at quotescore.ai/mcp, so you can score a quote from inside ChatGPT, Claude, or another assistant without visiting this site. When you do:
- What reaches us is only what the assistant sends to the tool: the quote text, and the ZIP code and work category if you supplied them. Nothing else.
- What does not reach us: the rest of your conversation, your name, your account with that assistant, or any identifier for you. The connection requires no account and no sign in, so we have no way to link one call to a person, and we do not try to.
- What we keep is the same as for the website: the extracted, anonymized line items, prices, category, contractor business name and ZIP, which improve the public benchmarks. We do not store your name, home address, phone number or email.
- Your conversation with the assistant is governed by that company's privacy policy, not this one. We are not a party to it and we cannot see it.
- Please do not paste personal details. The tool asks for the priced line items. If you leave your name or address in the text, it is processed as part of the quote and not retained, but the cleanest thing is to remove it first.
Retention and deletion
- Uploaded quote files: deleted immediately after analysis, automatically.
- Quote text sent through an AI assistant: processed for the analysis and not stored as text.
- Anonymized analysis data: retained to power benchmarks. It is not linked to your identity.
- Email addresses: kept until you unsubscribe, which removes the address from our list.
To request deletion of anything else, or to ask any question about your data, email quotescoreai@gmail.com and we will respond within a few days.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. Meaningful changes to how we handle email will also be announced to the email list itself.
Check a quote, privately
